Choose which products Fillwell scans
The Search and filter bar on Home chooses which products Fillwell scans. Every count on Home, and every list of products to fix, covers only the products that match it. The same bar sits above each gap's product list, and both share one saved set of filters.
How to scan part of your catalog
- Click the status button at the left of the bar and pick Any status, Active, Draft or Archived.
- Click inside the bar and pick a field, for example Vendor, Product type, Tag, Category or Price. Then pick its value. The filter appears in the bar as a pill.
- To search instead, type a word in the bar. It searches the way the product search in your Shopify admin does.
- To change the order products are listed in, click the sort button and pick an order such as Newest first or Title A–Z.
- The bar counts your filters and shows how many products match, next to the button.
- Click Rescan. Fillwell saves the filters and scans those products. With nothing changed, Rescan scans the saved filters again.
How to go back to the whole catalog
- Click the X at the right of the bar (Clear search and filters), and set the status button to Any status.
- Click Rescan.
Good to know
- Only a click on Rescan saves your filters and starts a scan. Pressing Enter in the search box, clicking the X and removing the last filter all leave an unsaved draft, and the counts on the page still belong to the old filters.
- On Home, an unsaved draft brings up the Shopify admin's unsaved changes bar. Save does the same as Rescan. Discard puts the bar back to the saved filters. You cannot leave Home until you pick one.
- Fewer than 1,000 matching products scan in seconds. 1,000 or more run as a background scan that can take a few minutes.
- Title has one condition, "is", and it matches the whole title. To find products by a word in the title, type the word in the bar.
- Vendor and Product type have "is" and "is not". You tick values from your store's own list, up to 20 in one filter. "Is" matches any ticked value. "Is not" matches products with none of them.
- Tag has "has" and "doesn't have". Price and Inventory total have "is", "greater than", "less than" and "is between".
- If Fillwell cannot use a filter, it does not scan: Unable to apply some filters. Fix or remove them, then rescan.
- The pages that merge duplicate vendors and tags always work on your whole store, regardless of filters.
